One Pot Pasta and Fall Favorites

Due to some changes happening over on my main blog I am going to be posting over here for a temporary time. I had originally considered not posting at all but I am not sure how long this will be so I figured this will be my best option. I apologize for any inconvenience and I will be sure to keep you up to date when I am back to using my regular platform.

Now onto the actual post!

Last week I posted a photo on my Instagram showing this one pot Italian pasta. As promised I have the recipe (although a little later than I wanted) so here it is! With the stove top set on low you start by adding 4 cups of vegetable broth and 1 cup of chicken broth to a large stockpot. Then add 1 can of undrained diced tomatoes, 1 pack of frozen spinach (10 o.z.), about 15 mini portobello mushrooms (sliced), 1/2 a medium white onion (chopped thin), fettuccine noodles, 1 tablespoon oregano, 1 tablespoon dried basil, and 2 garlic cloves. Bring it all to a boil and mix it up good. After it is at a boil reduce heat and cover until the noodles are cooked to how you like. If the noodles are the perfect texture and there is still some broth leftover carefully drain it out. Top with fresh parmesan and dig in! It makes a ton so if you only have a couple mouths to feed you will have leftovers for days!

Originally I was going to do this post Friday so I could make it a Friday’s Favorites, but that obviously didn’t work so I decided to just do some transitioning from fall favorites. Since October and Halloween have come and gone my mind is now in full Holiday mode. I love everything about this time of the year and I think the only thing keeping me from putting out the Christmas tree is the fact that it is still 70 here ( come on Ohio). This time of the year has me thinking of all my favorite Holiday goodies so I wanted to share some of them with you!

I first have to tell you that my absolute favorite tea is back in stores at Teavana! I am so addicted to this white chocolate peppermint tea that I think I could live the rest of my life drinking nothing but this. If you have never tried it I recommend going out and buying some, it’s like the Holiday’s in a mug.

Next up on the list is this layered top from Athleta. I love how it keeps you warm without  being so thick that it suffocates you, plus the opening in the back is perfect to keep you cool through a workout.

I am so in love with this jeweled top from J.Crew. The color is perfect and the jewels at the top are nice because they add a little something. I could definitely see myself wearing this to Thanksgiving dinner.

Lastly it would not be a favorites post if I didn’t mention some candles. Bath and Body Works has all of their “wintery” scented candles back in stores and I am so excited. I love all of the scents but there are a few that are a staple of mine. The candle Winter is probably the best thing I have ever smelled, I usually end up getting all of my hand soaps in this scent as well. I also love Frosted Cranberry and Salted Caramel.

Let me know what some of your favorite’s are at the moment! Have a great Tuesday!

Fresh Start

It has been officially a month since my last post and I feel terrible. I have always promised myself that I would never become one of those bloggers that disappeared and then popped back up with a million excuses as to why they stopped writing, but here I am. Honestly I couldn’t find the right balance between my social media presence and the “real world” and decided taking a short break would be the best thing for me to do. I feel confident that it helped, I was able to get out and have some fun and now I feel refreshed and full of new ideas.

Another thing I need to address is the website change I mentioned in a previous post, I am still working on it and am hoping to have it up and running within the next week, thank you for sticking around and being patient with me!

If you have been keeping up with my Instagram ( @madisonpaige342) then you have probably noticed my current obsession with patterned shorts and pants for the summer! My current favorites have been from the Cynthia Rowley line at TjMaxx, the patterns and colors are amazing.

I couldn’t find a place online where you could buy these but I am sure if you check out your nearest TjMaxx you will find some you love!

Lastly I want to talk about a book. It is no secret I lose inspiration and motivation pretty easily and here lately I have been working very hard to change that. I have started looking into internships and ways that I can better help myself succeed. In all this research I stumbled across a pretty popular book at the moment, Leave Your Mark, by Aliza Licht. After reading the amazing reviews I ordered it and cracked it open as soon as it arrived. I am about half way through and to say I am inspired would not do justice, this book is great. If you are looking for some super inspiration tips this is a must read!

Have a great evening loves!

March Favorites

Happy April 1st! April is one of my favorite months for several reasons(warmer weather, my birthday, end of classes) so I was not sad to say goodbye to March. I realized it has been an unacceptably long time since I have done a favorites post on products I loved all month so I decided to take this opportunity and do one for March!

Processed with Rookie

1) I have been extremely lazy with my self tanning here lately and this instant bronzer from Victoria’s Secret is a life saver.

2) I found this tumbler at Starbucks a few weeks ago and I’m obsessed with it. It’s perfect for sipping detox water but you can also put hot drinks in it!

3) The Nudes palette from Maybelline is a recent love of mine. The colors are beautiful and I have been loving a bronzed neutral all month.

4) The Rimmel Sun Shimmer bronzer has been a favorite of mine for a while now, it is perfect for adding some glow.

5) I love Maybelline lipsticks, as far as drug store goes I believe they are the absolute best, and the shade Born With It has been my go to. It’s a light pink with a little shimmer that makes a nice classy, natural, look.

6) When I am wanting a little bit more pop I top the lipstick with this NYX Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel, it adds a hint of color for the perfect combination.

7) The Mac liquid liner is a must. The black is gorgeous and drys matte, and I really just love everything about it.

8) Wet N Wild has some great blushes, my favorite this month has been in the color Wine.

9) My obsession with Gillian Flynn continues with her book “Sharp Objects”. Everything by her is amazing, if you’re looking for some books to add to your summer reading list check her out!

10) I got this Lorac mascara as a sample a while back and when I first receive it I hated it. After running out of my go-to I decided to give this one another shot and it turns out I absolutely love it! It leaves your lashes looking long and gorgeous!

11) Ah the Mac eye primer, I believe this will be a favorite until I am 70. My go-to color is Bare Study.

Hopefully this was helpful if you are searching for some new items to love! I plan to keep up on these and post one every month!

* Whats a favorites post without Chipotle and Starbucks green tea? (;

Spring Favorites

To be completely honest life has been b.o.r.i.n.g here lately. The weather has been miserably cold causing everyone is either sick or grumpy and all anyone wants to do is lay at home under 10 blankets watching movies. That has been life for the past 3 weeks now. Real blog worthy right?  So as I spend another morning curled up in blankets refusing to leave bed I figured why not at least dream about the warm weather, hence why a spring favorites is coming so soon. WARNING: may cause serious cravings for sun and packing your bags for California.
Spring Favorites
1. I can not stress enough how much I love rompers, they are easy to throw on and look adorable! These will be a staple in my spring/summer wardrobe!
2. Philosophy body washes are little bundles or happiness when the seasons change. I always know it is truly spring when I start using my raspberry sorbet scent.
3. I really loved these wool floppy hats for Fall and I think they will be a great accessory for Spring as well!
4. Statement necklaces are great any time of the year, but I really love all the fun colors for the Spring!
5. I didn’t jump on the crop top craze last year, but I am a full believer that paired with the right thing I will be loving them this year. They can look really nice and chic when paired well.
6. Skater skirts. I am obsessed. They look great with the crops tops, or really any top at that.
7. Classic black heels are a staple. I dream of the Christian Louboutins that are pictured.
8. Comfy Spring days call for boyfriend jeans. You can make them as dressed up or casual as you want, and they are seriously so comfortable.
9. Speaking of comfy, I am loving the Céline t-shirts I have been seeing every where! They would look great casually paired with the boyfriend jeans or dressed up with the skater skirt.
10. Gladiator sandels will always be a staple in my book, but this year I really love the ballerina looking heels. I think they will be adorable with the right outfits!
11. One of the best things about Spring is the lip colors! I love all the bright pinks that always start popping up this time of the year!
12. I listed my dream shoes so of course I had to list my dream bag. I am determined to own this Céline purse by the Summer!
One thing that is not photoed that I really love is the Lauren Conrad Cinderella collection at Kohl’s. I always love when her new collections come out, and this one has been one of my favorites! The tulle skirts are amazing and I may be purchasing one of the dresses for Easter(;
I hope everyone starts their day with wonderful warm thoughts now, and I won’t blame you if you decide to run off to sunny skies until it get warm again!

Winter Essentials

winter essentials
After Christmas comes and goes I turn into one of those people that 100% absolutely hate the winter, like more than anything. I hate the cold, I hate the darkness, I just hate everything about it. I honestly wish I could just hibernate through the cold months. With that being said I definitely need some favorite essentials to help me get through the winter months so I decided to share them with you incase you suffer from the same problem!
1) Soap and Glory The Ritous Body Butter: THIS. IS. AMAZING. Seriously. Dry skin is not an issue if you use this, I promise.
2) Oversized cozy sweaters are a must. I have been loving the ones from American Eagle this season, the fit is perfect and they are so soft!
3) Starbucks. This is necessary whatever the season, but in the winter it helps make my days a little better. My favorites are Chai Lattes and White Chocolate Mochas, but I recently tried the new Flat White and I. love. it.
4) Sweaters. I swear I wear these with almost every outfit, my favorite are the cable knit infinity scarves!
5) Essie nail polish will forever be my favorite, and I can’t stop wearing the deep maroon and gray this season.
6) As far as chap stick goes Babylips is for sure my favorite, along with EOS in a close second!
7) Bath and Body Works candles always seem to be the best in the fall and winter, my favorites this time of year are homemade cookies and winter!
8) Lastly a new product I just discovered a few months ago is Glam Glow, they have a few different masks for different reasons, but my favorite for the cold months is their Thirstymud mask! It helps keep your face smooth and moisturized instead of being all dry and flaky, plus it smells like coconuts and makes you think it is summer for about 20 minutes.
These are the things that help make my winter a little more bearable and hopefully you love them just as much as I do if you try them! Let me know if you guys have any products that help get you through the cold!

Taco Salad Tuesday and OOTD

When I was little Taco Tuesday was a very, very, important event in our home.
Every single Tuesday we would either make our own tacos or pick some up from our from taco place in town. This went on for such a long time, it was like a holiday to us. Tacos’ have always been one of my very favorite foods so of course I wanted to try and continue this tradition once I moved into my own place. Josh and I are not as religious with this as my parents were, but I will say we usually have some sort of taco/burrito/burrito bowl(Chipotle) at least once a week. Today I decided to make a very clean, and very extremely yummy taco salad.

1) I bought some organic white corn tortilla chips to use as my base.

2) I cooked some chicken breast on the stove top and seasoned them with just pepper and a little salt.

3) I also heated up some black beans and mixed a little cumin and chili powder in with them.

4) I topped the chips with black beans and then shredded some chicken and put that on it.

5) I cut up some iceberg lettuce and spread that over top.

6) Then I added diced up jalapeños, onions, cilantro, and tomatoes.

7) To top it off I added home-made guac (recipe below), a little scoop of all natural sour cream, and low fat Mexican blend cheese.

For the guac all you need is:

1 avocado

a little cilantro

1/3 of jalapeño diced

about 1 tablespoon of diced onion

a sprinkle of salt

a sprinkle of cumin

You simply put all of the ingredients into a bowl and mash and mix it all together until it is smooth and well blended!

This was such a simple and delicious meal, I think it may be one of my new favorites!

My plans for today were to do nothing more than lay in bed, drink tea, and read. And that is what I did for the first half of my morning!

Then I realized I needed to make a quick trip to the grocery store so I threw on some leggings, a cozy sweater, and some combat boots. I quickly threw on a little foundation, mascara, and a little gold shimmer eye shadow. I wasn’t feeling doing my make up today, or my hair, so I just put it up in a quick (and pretty ugly) bun.

Have a wonderful Tuesday evening loves!

Fall OOTD and TJMaxx Mini Haul

I woke up this morning feeling like Buddy The Elf.
I was listening to Christmas music, watching Christmas movies, and looking at Christmas ideas on Pinterest. This is rare for me, I have always been a believer of waiting until Thanksgiving is over to start with all of the Christmas cheer, but I think the thought of celebrating my first Christmas in my own home has got me extra excited this year. After I cleaned up the house I decided to take a trip to TJMaxx and check out the Christmas goodies they have. The weather was perfect today, I was able to get by with just a sweater and boots and not have to worry about wearing some bulky jacket.

I decided to go with a natural smokey eye and pink lips for my makeup today. I wanted something simple that added some color to my outfit and this look definitely did it! I used my Lorac Pro Palette 2 for my eyes and Wet and Wild Dollhouse lipstick.

I ended up finding way more than I expected at TJMaxx and if I could have, I probably would’ve bought just about everything in the store.

I am so, so, sooooo, excited about the sleigh, I have an idea for my front porch and this fit perfectly! It even has little lights strung through it so it can light up at night! I also purchased a “Hope” jar, Macadamia leave in conditioner, some Christmas kitchen towels, Lavender bath slats, a clear vase to put my Lush goodies in, Essie nail polish, a Christmas tree scented candle, an adorable new mug, annnnnd some new Aragon oil body butter.

I also found this adorable tree, its got rose-gold colored glitter covering it and it looks amazing in my living room window! I am wanting to do a house tour after I get all of my Christmas decorating done so be on the lookout for that sometime soon! Josh and I met my parents at Olive garden for some drinks and yummy pasta, I got my usual, eggplant parmesan, because it never lets me down. I decided the turn my look into more of a “night time appropriate” look.

(Sorry for the poor quality of the photo) I painted my nails with the new Essie polish I bought and I added some of the deep purple color I had put on my lids earlier to my lower lash line. I also changed my lip color to a deep reddish-purple from Maybelline! I love wearing colors like this for going out on Fall evenings!

September Favorites

It’s that time of the month! I absolutely love watching favorites videos on youtube and I figured why not make a favorites blog post?

I had a lot of fun going through and picking out all of the things I used like crazy and was totally loving the month of September! Hopefully these help you guys maybe find some new favorites of your own! I have a mix up of make up, skin care, and candles for this month, so let’s get started!

So the first thing that I have been absolutely LOVING is the Lorac Pro pallet 2! I use this almost every single day. Seriously though, look at how freaking gorg these colors are! One thing I love about this is that the top row is all mattes and the bottom row is all glitter! You get an even amount of both and you’re able to create so many fabulous looks with this! Plus the formulation of these shadows is amazing, they are so pigmented and they stay on so nicely all day! If you are a beginner and are looking for a good pallet to start with I would absolutely recommend going to get this one!

Next is this Maybelline lipstick in the color “Summer Sunset”. First let me say that Maybelline lipsticks are my favorite brand at the drug store. They go on so smoothly and they last for hours! I thought this was the perfect color to wear for the end of summer/ beginning of fall! It’s a light reddish/pink with some shimmer in it! It has been super pretty and I have just really been loving it with almost every look!

This is something I am sure you have all seen and for a good reason. It is the Mac paint pot and I use the shade “Bare Study”. This stuff seriously works so good as an eye primer! Plus you only have to use a tiny bit at a time so it is going to last FOREVER! It is totally worth the money! I know another shade that a lot of people love is Soft Ochre, but I thought this one fit my natural shade better!

Another favorite of mine that I am sure you have all heard about from every single beauty guru on this planet is the Loreal Paris Miss Manga Voluminous mascara. This stuff is raved about for a reason. If you haven’t tried it, GO BUY IT! It makes your lashes look amazing! It is so much better than even any high end mascara I have used, this will probably be my holy grail mascara for the rest of my life (until something better comes along)! I really do love this stuff, it’s amazing!

Next is the Mac liquid eye liner in “Boot Black”. For the longest time I searched for a good liquid liner that would make the perfect wing and last all day. Well here it is! It’s super black and the applicator is the perfect size for applying this! Another great product by Mac!

Now onto skin care products!

First is my all time favorite face wash, I use this stuff every single night, it is super gentle but does a great job at taking off all of your makeup! It’s the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser. You can find this at pretty much any store that sells face washes (I usually get mine from Walmart). It can be a little pricey, I believe I usually pay around $20 for it, but its totally worth it!

Seriously guys this body wash is the most amazing, clean, sweet, smelling body wash of life! It is from Bath and Body Works and let me tell you, it smells heavenly! The back says its key notes are Sparkling Meyer Lemon, Luscious Tangerine, and Sunflower Petals. Basically it smells like sunshine and happiness. I have been using this for the past three months now and have two more bottles stocked up so I am sure I will be using it for at least another month!

Two of my favorites I have been using this past month is the Victoria’s Secret self tanner and the Victoria’s Secret Pink lotion in Hot Crush. This self tanner works so well! I was worried about it leaving me orange or streaky but it doesn’t at all! It leaves me a nice bronze color with a little bit of shimmer, I apply it about 3 times a week to maintain the color I like! The lotion is super moisturizing and smells delicious! It has scents of Jasmine and Warm Caramel. I love warm, cozy, scents and this is just that!

Last for my September favorites are the two candles I have been burning non-stop all month! The first one is a vanilla amber scent that I found at TJMaxx. To be totally honest with you even if this smelled totally disgusting I would have bought it because, hello, that packaging is adorable, and I am such a sucker for cute packaging! Lucky for me though it also smells really good! It fits along with the warm scent I love so much, and I love to burn in it the bedroom or when I am relaxing in the tub! The second one is from the Bath and Body Works Farm Stand collection! I got the “apple” candle and it really smells like I have an apple orchard growing in my living room! It was the perfect candle for me to burn in September. I am super picky about my scents that I burn matching the season and September is always such a hard month for me to buy for because summer is still happening but then it’s also switching over to fall so I really don’t like to burn a specific scent for one specific season in that month (if any of that made any sense). This candle has the freshness of summer but also the new apple scent of fall so it was so perfect!

I hope y’all enjoyed reading about my favorites for this month! Be sure to leave a comment below letting me know what some of your favorites for the month of September have been! Also don’t forget to tag me in your photos if you are doing my October photo challenge!

XO Madison

Happy October!

I can not believe that it is already October! Where on earth has this year gone? I feel like I was just celebrating Valentine’s Day a week ago! Thankfully October is my favorite month of the year so the sudden arrival isn’t all bad. What isn’t there to love about this month?

The leaves are turning beautiful colors, it’s the perfect temperature outside, it’s okay to wear cozy sweaters and adorable riding boots, and of course pumpkin everything. I am a pumpkin addict. I love candles that are pumpkin scented, pumpkin treats, pumpkin breads, and of course the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte! Unfortunately for me most of these treats I love oh so much do not love me back, they love to add weight in places that it is not welcome. That is why this month I have decided to post at least one healthy remake a week of some of my favorite treats! I will be including recipes, calories, cook time, and of course pictures! I am not sure yet if I am going to be choosing a specific day to post these or just do it randomly, but keep your eye out for my first one that should be up in the next couple of days!

One of the reasons I love fall, from the front porch.

Also for the month of October I decided to do a fun photo-a-day challenge! I am sure you know how these work but if not it’s simple! You look a what the “theme” of the day is, take a photo that is relevant to it, and post it on social media sites tagging me! You can of course post it on any site that you would like and if I do not have an account with that site you can comment the picture to me on here if you’d like! For Instagram just tag it to @madisonpaige342 and for Twitter tag it to @maddiepaige11 ! Please if you participate share your photos with me, I love seeing all the pictures, and of course check my sites because I will also be participating in the challenge! Here is the description photo:
